Seven tornadoes confirmed so far from storms in Minnesota, Iowa

(ABC 6 News) – The National Weather Service has confirmed seven tornadoes so far from storms in southeast Minnesota and North Iowa.
According to the National Weather Service, the five tornadoes include two EF1s southwest of Riceville, Iowa, and an EF0 near Saratoga in Howard County, an EF2 in Taopi, MN, in Mower County, an EF1 west of Spring Valley,MN in Fillmore County, an EF0 in Kanawha, Iowa, in Hancock County and the latest an EF1 in Cerro Gordo County.
Initial survey results from the EF-2 tornado in Taopi, Mn, which occurred around 10:40 p.m. reached peak wind speeds of 132 mph and injured two people. The tornado moved through western Taopi, Minnesota, damaging or destroying homes, farms, and outbuildings and downing/snapping transmission power lines.
An EF1 tornado occurred around 10 p.m. southwest of Spring Valley did damage to farm buildings and trees. Initial survey results show peak wind speeds reached 100 mph.
An EF1 tornado tracked 2.2 miles through Brownville in Mitchell county, IA at 10:57-10:59 p.m. at estimated peak winds of 110 mph damaging farm outbuildings and trees.
South of Riceville, IA, an EF1 tornado tracked 5.3 miles damaging numerous farm buildings and grain bins at estimated peak winds of 110 mph.
In Howard County, a brief EF0 tornado touched down near Saratoga with damage to trees at estimated peak winds of 80 mph.
In Kanawha, Iowa in Hancock County, an EF0 tornado reached peak winds at 75 to 95 mph and stretched and a mile at 7:34 p.m.
Just before 10:30 p.m., an EF1 tornado touched down on the southeast side of Mason City, IA in Cerro Gordo County. The tornado stretched 4.4 miles with peak wind speeds of 100 to 110 mph.
NWS meteorologist are still conducting damage surveys. Three additional tornadoes were confirmed. Two EF1 tornadoes were in Mitchell Co. near Riceville and the third was an EF0 near Saratoga in Howard Co. Iowa.

NWS La Crosse meteorologists are surveying damage across southeast MN and northeast IA. Preliminary storm damage results at Taopi, MN in Mower Co. indicates EF2 damage.
