(ABC 6 News) – Kids got to show off their very own science experiments at the 32nd Annual GATEway Science Fair on Saturday.
After being canceled last year due to the pandemic, the event is back and at a new location. It was held at Willow Creek Middle School.
Over 120 3rd through 6th-grade students from 25 different schools participated including schools outside of Rochester and homeschoolers.
"Well, it’s a fun day for the kids. They get to answer questions about what they’ve done. Some of them are really passionate about the science that they’ve done and with a lot of them, it also kind of sets them up for science careers in the future," Andy Petzold, Registration Chair for the GATEway Science Fair, said.
Even though this was a non-competitive science fair, the students still got feedback and tips from professional scientists from Mayo Clinic, engineers from IBM and science teachers.
