Two local teachers recognized for agricultural education
(ABC 6 News) – Two local teachers have received grants that are designed to support education efforts around agricultural literacy.
The MAITC Foundation named Katie Brown (Dover-Eyota) and Mae James (Zumbrota-Mazeppa), along with 8 others as recipients for its 2022 Agricultural Literacy Grants.
The grants are designed to support educational efforts around ag literacy from kindergarten to high school across the state.
The grants, of up to $500 each, will help support agricultural literacy efforts that involve hands-on activities with bees, chickens, dairy, hydroponics, and more.
Tiffany Kobbermann, a Family and Consumer Science teacher at Minnewaska High School in Glenwood, MN, received the Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (MAITC) 2022 Teacher of the Year award.
