Two people arrested after K9 detects drugs in car
(ABC 6 NEWS) – Two people were arrested Friday night after drugs and a stolen firearm were found during a traffic stop in Mason City, according to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s office.
Just before 7 p.m. Friday, a Cerro Gordo County Deputy pulled over a car in Mason City.
During the stop, the deputy received assistance from Mason City Police and K9 Kilo. K9 Kilo gave a positive alert for the odor of narcotics on the car, according to the sheriff’s office.
The car was searched and meth and a stolen firearm were found. The driver of the car, Jacob Shafer, 30 of Mason City was arrested as well his passenger Desarae Schwab, 28 of Mason City, according to the sheriff’s office.
Shafer was charged with possession with the intent to deliver meth, trafficking stolen weapons, no tax stamp, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Schwab was charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
