Two teenagers arrested following robbery at Rochester grocery store
(ABC 6 News) – Two Rochester teenagers have been arrested after police said the two robbed a grocery store Friday night.
The Rochester Police Department received a call from an employee at Baraka Grocery & Mall that two people had come into the store and taken money around 10:30 p.m.
The employee told police both people were wearing what appeared to be ski masks. They said one person pointed a gun at them while the other went behind the counter and took money from the register and then they ran away.
Police were able to review surveillance video and get a good description of the clothing worn by the individuals as well as information about the vehicle they were driving.
About an hour later an officer saw a vehicle matching the description parked at the Andover Apartment Complex. When officers approached two people were sitting inside the vehicle. Police said they were wearing the same clothing as the people on the surveillance video.
Officers arrested the two 17-year-olds, both from Rochester. Inside the vehicle, they also found a handgun and some cash. Both teens are facing possible robbery and assault charges. One teenager is also facing a possible charge for illegally possessing a pistol.
