Update: Semi trailer fire caused by ruptured fuel tank

(ABC 6 News) – A semi truck and trailer fire Wednesday morning was caused by a ruptured fuel tank due to contact with the barrier as it entered the median, Benjamin Davis with the Rochester Fire Department said.
The truck caught fire in the media of Highway 52, between Marion Rd. and County Rd. 1.
Rochester firefighters extinguished the fire using two water lines, including use of a tanker from Eyota Mutual Aid.
There were no injuries reported.

The Rochester Fire Department said it happened at 6 a.m. at 4365 Highway 52 SE between Marion Rd. and County Rd. 1.
Crews utilized foam and spent time on scene to overhaul and completely extinguish the fire prior to it being removed.
RFD said the truck, trailer and all on board contents were a total loss. Because of the unknown value of the contents, an estimate is not available.
Additional fire units responded due to the size of the fire, which fully engulfed the vehicle.
While in route, units learned that the vehicle was transporting food, and the driver exited the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
The Eyota Fire Department responded to supply additional water with their tanker truck.
Mayo Clinic Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol, Olmsted County Sheriff’s, Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
