(ABC 6 News) – Monday, the U.S. House of Representatives held a moment of silence for Minnesota Rep. Jim Hagedorn (R-MN) who passed away earlier this month.

All of the Minnesota representatives stood at the podium as Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) and Rep. Betty McCollum (D-MN) spoke.

"Even as Jim bravely endured the personal challenge of cancer treatments he did so with dignity and grace. He continued to serve our country and his constituents. Please rise for a moment of silence in honor of the late Representative Jim Hagedorn of Minnesota," said Rep. Betty McCollum.

Rep. Hagedorn served Minnesota’s 1st District since 2018.

A public visitation at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, where Rep. Hagedorn was born and raised, will be held Friday, March 4 from 5-7 p.m., and on Saturday, March 5 from 9-12 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman.
