Valentine’s Day cards for assisted living

(ABC 6 News) – Our House Assisted Living in Austin is hosting an event where people can send cards to residents of the living center.

The event has been put on the past few years to help give cards and gifts to elders who may not have family come and visit them often or family is too far away.

"Some of them don’t get out a lot or have a lot of family members come out and visit, so this is a way to brighten their day,” Life Enrichment Coordinator at Our House Assisted Living Samantha Ricke said.

“I don’t have anybody, except for my husband and I can’t see him because he lives somewhere else.," said Our House resident, Susan Tindal.

Everything will be delivered to seniors on February 12th.
