Vortex Cold Storage opens facility in Albert Lea

(ABC 6 News )- Vortex Cold Storage held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday to celebrate its brand new warehouse in Albert Lea.

The 170 thousand square foot facility will employ about 30 people, and will provide temperature controlled storage for companies.

Those involved with the project say they are happy to bring this facility to the Albert Lea community.

"We’re thrilled to be a partner of the city of Albert Lea, the Albert Lea Economic Development Authority, and the other regional partners that we had here and continue to grow and within the Albert Lea community going forward," said Co-President of Vortex Cold Storage Connor Wray.

At the ribbon cutting ceremony the Vortex team was presented with a C-PACE Alliance Award for best environmental impact for its 2021 energy efficient build.
