2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season Begins
June 1 is the start of the Atlantic Hurricane Season, which lasts through November 30. Last season was an average, yet destructive season, with 14 named storms, 8 of which were hurricanes, with 2 of those becoming major hurricanes (Fiona Cat 4. & Ian Cat. 5). Forecasters are calling for another normal to near-normal season, with 12-17 storms expected, 5-9 of which could become hurricanes, and 1-4 of those being a major hurricane (wind of at least 111 mph).
