Arctic air lingers with dangerous wind chills into Wednesday
The Arctic air overhead will see little movement as the week progresses with temperatures running well below average for mid-January.
Temperatures on Tuesday will return to above zero for the first time since last Saturday afternoon as highs climb into the single digits. A brisk west wind gusting up to 25 mph at times will keep wind chills (feels-like) in the range of -10° to -20°.
A WIND CHILL ADVISORY is in effect for the entire ABC 6 Weather First area until 9:00 a.m. Wednesday as wind chills are expected to drop to near -30° in some spots by morning.
High temperatures will remain in the single digits with night lows below-zero through the rest of the week into the weekend with finally, some mild Pacific air moving in on Sunday into next week with temperatures returning to above average.
