Bitter cold Friday

A blast of Arctic cold will move in as the week ends. A cold front will slide through midday Thursday with temperatures falling from the teens around lunchtime to the single digits by evening. It gets even colder by Friday morning with low temperatures in the teens below-zero area wide. Wind chills will range from -20° to -35°. As a result, there is an ALERT DAY through Friday morning. Highs on Friday will be in the single-digits above-zero with wind chills likely remaining below-zero throughout the day.
