Dangerous cold arrives with wind

Get ready for a three and a half day stretch where temperatures will be below zero. By day, highs fall short of climbing to the positive side Thursday through Saturday. By night, we’ll push into the -10s at times from Wednesday night through Saturday night.

The worst of the wind chills will occur from Thursday through Saturday morning. It’s look like a constant trip into the -30 to -40° range is likely. At these conditions frostbite on exposed skin can occur in as little as 10-15 minutes.

Stay safe. Do not travel Thursday night to Saturday morning because of blizzard conditions. Plan accordingly to spend time out in these conditions if you do head out. Have a winter emergency kit ready too. This is the type of storm that tests modern conveniences we sometimes take for granted.
