Dense fog to start Thursday followed by sunshine and mild temperatures

Thursday with start with some locally dense fog followed by sunshine and mild temperatures.

A DENSE FOG ADVISORY is in effect for the entire ABC 6 Weather First area through late morning. Visibility under 1/4 mile is possible throughout the morning in many places.

The fog will gradually lift out by late morning with sunshine expected through the afternoon. High temperatures won’t quite be record-breaking like on Wednesday as readings are expected to climb into the 40s with parts of north Iowa possibly getting to 50° once again.

A weak cold front will slide through bringing clouds later this afternoon into the evening hours along with cooler weather for Friday with high temperatures in the 30s.
