First Part = Snow & Wind, Esp. Southern MN

The major winter storm the Weather First Team has been tracking since the end of last week, will finally get here later Tuesday afternoon & evening. This will be the first of two parts for this storm, affecting the area Tuesday afternoon/evening – early Wednesday. The bulk of this round of snow will fall across southern MN during this time, with upwards of 5″ north of the MN/IA border. South of that line, northern IA will see a trace to maybe 2″ by Wednesday morning. Travel will be difficult at times, especially throughout southern MN, where we will be experiencing the higher end snowfall totals with this first part. Wind will be increasing out of the NE as well heading into Wednesday morning & afternoon.
