First storm next week brings rain

Next week is an active one with two storm systems lining up for the middle of the country. The first arrives Monday into Tuesday morning.

A warmer weekend leading into next week will help keep this system on the warm side for January. Rain is the primary threat here. 1/4″ to 1/2″ of rain looks like an early target window.

Cooler temperatures eventually catch up but just as the back edge of the system is exiting. We’ll close with a brief changeover to snow. At this point, the impacts from this changeover will be minimal into Tuesday morning.
