Fog Finally Finishes
After what has been a nearly week-long stretch of foggy days, we are finally going to get a break this afternoon. We have been experiencing a warm air inversion, where air temperatures are far warmer higher up in the atmosphere than at the surface. This makes it harder for the atmosphere to mix. You have probably heard this referred to as a “cap” in the past, as this is the same cap that prevents thunderstorms from developing, not allowing convection to get up into the atmosphere.
