Last of the sizzle

Temperatures pushed up into the low to mid 90s across the area today. For Rochester, it marked the sixth time this year that temperatures reached 90° or higher.

The record high on Sept. 20th for Rochester held tight at 92°, with today’s highs falling just 2° short at 90°. Records for Austin, Albert Lea and Mason City were either broken or tied.

The last time Rochester reached 90° or more this late into the season was back on Sept. 22, 2017 when we hit 91°. Of which, there are only 13 recorded 90° temperatures on or beyond Sept. 20th in the record. The latest being October 9th.
