Mild winter weather rolls on
Winter continues to take a hiatus as the mild winter weather train rolls on!
It was a record-breaking day across southeast Minnesota and northern Iowa on Wednesday as several communities broke daily high temperature records as highs climbed into the 50s which is very uncommon for January. It was the warmest January day in Rochester since 2012!
It won’t be as mild on Thursday, in part due to more of a light northeast wind, however temperatures are still expected to climb into the mid-to-upper 40s under a mostly sunny sky once the morning fog lifts.
A cold front will slide through Thursday night with cooler air to follow for Friday with high temperatures in the upper 30s, which still isn’t bad, and around 15° above average.
It gets “warmer” into the weekend as high temperatures climb back into the mid 40s and highs will likely stay in the 40s throughout next week. Night lows will generally be in the 20s and 30s.
No major storms are on the horizon with the next best chance for precipitation coming toward the second half of next week.
