Polar air to bring a cooldown to end the week
After a stretch of mild and well above average temperatures, some polar air will sneak into the area with temperatures a bit closer to average as the week comes to an end.
A strong area of Canadian high pressure will build in on Thursday with high temperatures near 30°. The polar air will slowly nudge in by Friday with highs in the mid-20s and upper 20s likely on Saturday. Night lows will be in the teens with single digits possible for some communities.
The high pressure moves to the southeast on Sunday with the wind switching to the west driving in some more mild Pacific air as high temperatures return to the upper 30s.
High temperatures are expected to remain above average through much of next week with mainly 30s and possible a 40° temperature by the middle of the week.
