Rain and Snow Today
Rain will be a theme through the last few hours of the morning. Snow will come into the picture around 1-3 PM, and will be at it’s heaviest through the afternoon commute.
Blowing snow is still expected even with warmer temperatures to start out. Keep in mind winds will also shift from south to north as the snow arrives, meaning any snow that’s loose that hasn’t melted will blow back to the south on top of the fresh snowfall that arrives this afternoon.
Accumulations will really begin after the snowfall picks up in intensity. Expect slush initially and even icy spots as we cool off into Friday morning. Highest accumulations will likely top off around 3″ near Owatonna and Albert Lea.
