Rain will continue to run short

The rainfall deficit for the summer season is nearing 7″ again, and more than likely will surpass that by next week. The jet stream is from the northwest, which can be good for some brief rounds of showers and storms, but not for soaking, widespread rain. Here are the numbers through Tuesday, August 8th.
