Record-breaking weekend likely with rain chance Sunday

A surge of warm air will boost temperatures into record territory this weekend.

Highs on Saturday will push into the low-to-mid 60s which will be near or possibly record-breaking for some communities in the ABC 6 Weather First area.

Sunday will be even warmer as highs climb into the upper 60s to lower 70s which will most likely set records for most areas.

A weather system will drag a cold front through the area sometime in the late Sunday afternoon and evening timeframe which may spark a few showers, a rumble of thunder is also possible. Any rain amounts look to be light.

Behind the front, temperatures will cool off into the 40s for highs heading into next week.
