Rochester record rainfall on Tuesday

A rainfall record that has stood for 77 years in Rochester was broken on Tuesday.

Heavy rains made their way through southeast Minnesota especially near and north of I-90 where as much as 2-5″ of rain fell.

The Rochester International Airport (RST) received 2.26″ which broke the daily rainfall record of 1.18″ set in 1946.

Unfortunately, more rain is on the way late Wednesday night lasting until early Friday where another 1-2″ with locally higher amounts are likely.
