Snow potential early next week
After a relatively quiet week with no major storms, a system has its eye on the area early next week that may bring some snow to the region.
A storm will develop in in the southern plains on Monday and track northeast drawing Gulf of Mexico moisture northward into the area.
As the system gets closer, snow will likely develop late Monday night into Tuesday and overspread the area throughout Tuesday and possibly mix with rain as temperatures climb above freezing into the mid-30s.
However, there is still several uncertainties regarding the track and evolution of this storm as well as temperatures. One degree or two and a shift in the storm track can make a difference on what the precipitation type may be. But, as of now, there is a high likelihood of snow with potential accumulations.
The finer details will get ironed out as it gets closer.
