Tracking The Significant Storm Wed-Thu
We are going to be dealing with a significant snow event for the Weather First Area, with heavy snow moving in Wednesday afternoon, staying put through the evening. Another round of heavy snow moves in overnight, lasting into the morning commute for Thursday. Get ready for snow rates of 1″ per hour, possibly higher at times, limiting visibility, and covering up roads quickly. This will lead to extremely difficult, to impossible travel at times area-wide, especially the second half of Wednesday lasting into the early hours of Thursday. When it’s over, well over a foot of snow is likely throughout southern MN, especially closer to Highway 14, where upwards of 15-20″ will be possible! Lower amounts, but still significant, will be possible throughout northern Iowa, 3-6″ area-wide, closer to 10″ near the state line. Get the snow blowers & snow plows ready!
