Trending milder this weekend into the end of January

Arctic air will finally loosen its grip on the Weather First area as more mild air will lead to a high likelihood of above average temperatures as January comes to an end and February begins.
The Climate Prediction Center’s 8 to 14 day temperature outlook covering the January 30th through February 5th time period has a likelihood of above average temperatures. Of course there will be some variability, but no significant Arctic outbreaks or cooldowns are expected.
Other than scattered flurries or a brief snow shower possible on Wednesday, there are no significant storm systems on the horizon, but that could always change in the days ahead.
