Warm surge to lead to above average temperatures into February
The weather pattern will be undergoing some changes into next week as a warm surge of mild Pacific air will send temperatures well above average as February begins.
Temperatures have been on the upswing since last Sunday as the Arctic air that gripped the area for several days finally retreated back north being replaced by mild air with temperatures climbing back to above average.
Temperatures are expected to be 10° to 15° or more above average heading into next week with highs in the 30s and eventually 40s by midweek. The warmest air looks to arrive by Groundhog’s Day where high temperatures could manage to hit 50°.
Overall, the week is looking dry with systems passing north and south of the area.
