A wintry blast before the end of a record warm February

February is still going to end as the warmest on record for Rochester and many surrounding communities, and this winter will end as the warmest on record. However, we do have a shock to the system headed our way from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday morning.

Bitterly cold, arctic air will start to push into the region after lunch Tuesday and Wednesday will be one of the coldest days of this February. We’re also going to see a quick shot of snow Tuesday evening, ending up to be just a coating for most of us. Between strong winds and quickly dropping temperatures, wind chills will be below zero at times Wednesday.
