Drought expands and that trend will continue for now

The U.S. Drought Monitor update from this Thursday shows an increase in drought conditions across southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. It’s no surprise, given our continued lack of precipitation that started last summer and continues through the winter. At this time, there are no significant precipitation makers on the way until, possibly, about 10 days from now. Drought conditions will continue to expand and intensify for the time being.
