(ABC 6 News) – Country singer Luke Bryan will make a stop in southeastern Minnesota as part of his 2022 Farm Tour.
Bryan will be performing at Gar-Lin Dairy Farm in Eyota on Sept. 24.
"I don’t know of another event where we’ve had more people coming to the area in the lifetime of Eyota," former Mayor of Eyota and current Eyota City Council member, Tyrel Clark, said.
The four-generation family-owned dairy farm, Gar-Lin Dairy, produces 18,000 gallons of milk a day and could be hosting up to 20,000 fans in September.
"We’re hoping it sells out fast," Dana Allen-Tully at Gar-Lin Dairy Farm said.
The largest event Eyota sees is Eyota Days which attracts around 1,000 people every July. But, the floods of people coming to the area in September will hopefully drive the economy and benefit local restaurants and businesses.
"It’s not really about us. It’s about the opportunity to highlight the American farmer and production agriculture. And then also to bring that much business to a local community that we’ve been a part of for generations. It’s more about that than it is about the rest of it," Allen-Tully said.
Gar-Lin Farm doesn’t have to do much on its end. The farm is renting out its field to the Farm Tour.
Allen-Tully has known about this event happening since last fall when the organization called her asking to add southeast Minnesota to the tour list for 2022.
"It’s been a tough secret to keep," she said.
"We have three months to prepare for this," Clark said.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office will be coordinating law enforcement and first responders that will be there to ensure safety.
"We’re just so honored to be able to share that with him and then with southern Minnesota," Allen-Tully said.
This is the first time Bryan is stopping in Minnesota on his Farm Tour.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, May 5.
