Walz heads week-long trade mission in the U.K. and Finland
(ABC 6 News) – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and members of the trade delegation are spending a week in the U.K and Finland with the goal of increasing state exports and promoting Minnesota as a "premier destination for business investment."
During the week-long trade mission, the group will be stopping at major business centers in London and Helsinki.
Gov. Walz, along with members of the Minnesota trade delegation, visited the London Mayo Clinic campus Monday to see how the Minnesota-based company is improving health care not just in Minnesota but around the world.

According to a press release from the Governor’s office, medical devices and pharmaceuticals are among Minnesota’s top four exports to the U.K. In 2020, Minnesota companies exported $499 million in products to the U.K., with medical devices accounting for $110 million, and pharmaceuticals accounting for $43 million.
"As Minnesota’s 8th largest export market, the U.K. is a critically important global trading partner. The U.K. is one of the most innovative countries in the world. It has a robust medical technology sector and is committed to sustainability — qualities that Minnesota shares,” said Governor Walz.
“I was honored to visit Mayo Clinic Healthcare in London to learn about how this Minnesota-based organization is advancing health care both in Minnesota and abroad.”
