(ABC 6 News) — On Friday, the 14-year-old suspect and his newly arrested father faced the judge for the Georgia school shooting that occurred earlier in the week.

They are both charged with several crimes including second-degree murder after four people were killed and nine others were injured in the shooting.

Colt Gray, a 14-year-old, will be tried as an adult on four counts of felony murder. His father, 54-year-old Colin Gray, is charged with multiple counts of second-degree murder and manslaughter for allegedly buying his son the assault rifle, knowing he was a threat to himself and others.

According to the arrest warrant, the Christmas gift was given just months after the pair were interviewed by investigators when Colt allegedly posted online threats about shooting up his middle school.
