(ABC 6 News) – The Albert Lea City Council will meet to discuss a proposal to sell a plot of land at the Blazing Star Landing to a private owner.
If approved, the four-acre lot will be sold to clear the way for a convenience store.
But before that can happen, the city will have to remove contaminated soil at the site, expected to cost around $800,000.
If the city moves forward, the store is expected to create 19 jobs, increase tax revenue and attract nearly $9 million of private investment.
