(ABC 6 News) – A new report from the Albert Lea Police Department shows that fights are on the decline in local schools, following the addition of a second school resource officer in the district.
“We had a lot of fights in the first two years within Southwest, which I attribute to him being in the school now,” said Adam Conn, an SRO with Albert Lea Public Schools. “They know he’s in the school, he’s in the hallways, he’s helping the admin team. So the kids know he’s there.”

That report was given to the school board just last week, and follows the addition of Officer David Huse, who joined Conn last March.
