(ABC 6 News) – Senator Amy Klobuchar (DFL-Minn.) held a press conference on Monday with an American Legion commander.
This comes as Klobuchar will be presented with the 2024 Distinguished Public Service award from the legion for her efforts to support the Afghan allies who aid U.S. troops.
The award also recognizes her work clearing the backlog of military promotions.
“She has not only represented the interests of Minnesotans, but she also has been a true advocate for our military veterans, service members and their families stationed around the world,” said Commander Daniel J. Seehafer.
The annual award is given to an elected official who establishes a record that supports the principles of the American Legion.
