APS competes in speech tournament, four students place

(ABC 6 News) – Austin Public Schools shared some exciting news, three of their students placed during a statewide speech tournament.

19 teams and 442 students from across Minnesota gathered to compete.

As for Austin, seven members of the Packers Speech Team competed, six for the first time.

Two of the students placed seventh, one in the “Novice Original Oratory” and the other in “Novice Creative Expression” categories.

Two other Austin students finished first in the “Novice Duo Interpretation” category.
