Building a Mathematical Foundation

(ABC 6 News) – Seasoned mathematicians, engineers and young scholars took over the Mayo Civic Center.
The 4th Rochester Math Festival pulled brought in some new booths to help inspire the next generation of mathematicians and engineers. Giving students the chance to get some hand one experience from various STEM organizations from around the region.
91 students also participated in a competition and were able to attend several math related seminars.
“In Rochester, we don’t have that many opportunities to go to this kind of event,” Rochester Math Club Co-Found, Yi Guo said. “We want to start making a more regional kind of event to get people from around here more exposed to different types of STEM related topics.”
Some of the topics included robotics, software engineering, computer science and even chess.
Rochester mayor came out to deliver a speech during the award ceremony.
