(ABC 6 News) – Kids in Stewartville showed their bus drivers a little love Tuesday with a belated “bus driver appreciation day.”
It was supposed to be last week, but instead, today drivers got a chance to see dozens of hand-made cards from the students that ride their buses every day.
Every inch of the walls inside Grisim Bus Company was covered with letters from kids and drivers say it made their day.
“Some days you just wonder ‘well am I ever appreciated’. You get thank you’s every once in a while, but to come in see it written, I think that’s more important,” said Steven Sterm, a Stewartville bus driver. “We always like letters, well, this is like a letter to bus drivers to say thank you.”
After the drivers were surprised with the cards, the drivers hopped on the bus and got ready to take kids home for the day.
