(ABC 6 News) – A community action group supporting people with disabilities met today at Hope Church in Rochester discussing how Minnesota is addressing the staffing crisis affecting disability supports.

People shared personal testimonies about either being over worked while providing care or that their loved one wasn’t receiving proper care because of staffing issues. Several Minnesota lawmakers were in attendance to talk about these issues and answer questions.

“It really makes me feel really good that legislators were able to come today to hear the people in their community and it’s effecting them. Willing to make the change, be a part of the change or step forward to it,” said residential supervisor at Cardinal of Minnesota Hillary Inthamthirath.
