Confronting current equity issues
(ABC 6 News) – Destination Medical Center hosted its monthly Equity Alliance Equity series for the community.
This month, DMC invited the creators of Rochester’s Black Legacy Exhibit, shown at city hall last week. The exhibit showed a long overlooked history of Black residents throughout the history of Rochester.
“It’s growing, it’s dynamic and its malleable and people are really committed to doing that work together,” said Nicole Asong Nfonoyim-Hara, the curator of Still We Rise. And have different visions for it, of course, but there’s some energy here that I think is very different from some other places and I think tapping into that but always with that critical mindset around asking those very difficult questions. Then being able to collaborate around and fashion what the response to that might be.”
The exhibit is currently on display at RCTC until the end of the month.
