Cornfield fire extinguished outside Austin

(ABC 6 News) – Austin Fire Department was dispatched to a field fire on Sunday near 170th Street.

According to AFD, the call came in at 11:32 a.m. Fire crews were able to contain the fire in about an hour.

Firefighters say they believe the cause was due to illegal burning, which spread to a cornfield and burned up some lower level corn.

There were no injuries.
