(ABC 6 News) – At the nation’s capitol, U.S. Representative Angie Craig is leading a bipartisan push to address the county’s healthcare worker shortage.
The healthcare workforce innovation act would provide grants and partnerships between healthCare and students looking to pursue those careers.
Current projection estimate that professions like pediatricians and pharmacy technicians are being hit the hardest by the shortage.
Current trends show a future shortage of more than 112,000 medical assistants and 33,000 dental assistants by 2035, according to the Craig Campaign Office.
