(ABC 6 News) – On Thursday, the Austin Chamber of Commerce held a launch party for their new app.

It’s called Go! Austin, Minnesota, and it’s designed to connect residents & visitors with everything the Austin community has to offer.

From local events & businesses to exclusive deals and promotions, officials hope the venture will attract more tourism to the city.

“It’s a way to kind of unify all the different pieces that are out there in the community”, said Chaunce Stanton with the Austin Chamber of Commerce. “There are organizations with their own calendars and for example school events so instead of having to go to the school website, to tourist bureaus website you can go to the app and find all those events in one place.”

The launch party featured a ceremonial ribbon cutting, and a short speech from Mayor Steve King.
