(ABC 6 News) – No joke this time, the U.S. Federal Highway Administration will put an end to popular and humorous Minnesota Department of Transportation signs.
MNDOT has garnered plenty of attention for highway signs displaying referencing bands visiting the state, popular movies or sports teams on Minnesota interstates.
But with the new 1,100 page FHA manual comes strict rules, limiting what can appear on the illuminated signs.
New regulations state signs should be simple, direct, brief, clear and only be used for important information.
