Goodhue County phone scam, pretending to associate with sheriff’s office

(ABC 6 News) – Dispatchers from the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office say multiple people have reported they received a call from the sheriff’s office’s “False Claims Division.”
The catch? No such division exists at GCSO.
GCSO says to be on the lookout for people asking for gift cards, bitcoin or other monetary alternatives to settle fines.
If you get a call like this, hang up immediately and call law enforcement.
