Grassley pushes to repeal so-called “death tax”

FILE - U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley.
(ABC 6 News) – Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa and other Republicans are re-introducing a bill to permanently repeal the federal estate tax.
Commonly known as the “death tax,” it is a federal tax imposed on property that is transferred to someone after the owner’s death. That includes family-run farms, ranches, and businesses.
The “Death Tax Repeal Act” would put an end to that tax.
