Home’s floor heater starts fire Sunday afternoon in Charles City
(ABC 6 News) – The Charles City Fire Rescue Department responded to a home Sunday afternoon after a floor heater sparked a fire.
According to Charles City Fire Dept., the call came in around 3:30 p.m. for a residence on the 400 block of Cedar St. for smoke filling the home.
Once on-scene, fire crews found smoke and flames coming from the floor on the main level. The team quickly made entry to the basement and extinguished the fire.
Charles City Fire Rescue says the fire was concentrated to the in-floor heater. The blaze damaged the main level floor but is expected to be repaired.
There were no injuries reported.
The Floyd Fire Dept. and Cowell Fire assisted at the scene.
