(ABC 6 News) – An Iowa bill aiming to cap insulin costs at $75 for a month supply.
The bill has advanced out of a Senate subcommittee and is now being recommended for passage.
Insulin is used to treat high blood sugar in people with both Type 1 and 2 diabetes.
In Minnesota, the state’s Insulin Safety Net Program and a settlement with insulin maker Eli Lilly by the Attorney General’s office has capped insulin costs to $35 a month.
