Iowa DOT, DPS: Plan for a sober ride on Super Bowl Sunday

(ABC 6 News) – The Iowa Department of Public Safety wants you to plan ahead if you plan on drinking during the Super Bowl.
The DOT says, over five years, an average of eight people have died or are seriously injured in a crash involving a drunk driver each week.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports 37 people die in drink driving crashes each day.
Officials say, if you plan to drink alcohol, plan a designated driver.
If you plan on hosting a party, prepare plenty of food and non-alcoholic drink options.
